Cherish the time you have with those close to you. How do you collect a lighthouse? Sounds interesting. Science…make sure you thoroughly check out the SAS materials for science. I hope you find interesting and useful materials for your teaching.

Sounds like you love your family and cherish the time spent with them. Many people don’t realize that until it’s too late. Good luck teaching science. I’ll have to visit your classroom because science was so not fun for me in school.

Collecting lighthouses sounds very interesting. How many light houses have you visited? I tried seeing the NC light houses once but I was unable to find a few. Rather they were on Islands like Bald Head Island near Southport. When I was a kid at some point I lived on Oak Island and could see the light house from a distance but it’s a private island.

I think being a science teacher is probably the coolest area because you can do so many hands-on lessons, experiments, etc. When I was little I wanted to be an archaeologist. Also, North Carolina has so many interesting geological and research sites. Kids seem to respond well to science because it is so interesting. Good choice! Roberta Wilson

Hearing about your Paw Paw Porky made me think of my Grandpa Casper. He wasn’t a man of words like your Paw Paw, but he was always around to encourage us through his actions.

It is nice to meet you and to learn of your love for science. I firmly believe that science is the gift of God. From science we enjoy our modern standard of living. Anyone who has had a child in a hospital should be grateful for modern medicine. Engineering is the practical and useful application of science. Our nation needs more scientist.
